Gavin Smith, Scott Montgomery wins their first WSOP Bracelets

Full Tilt Poker Referral Code pros Gavin Smith and Scott Montgomery collected their first ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets at the Event#44 and Event#36 respectively. Gavin Smith was victorious at the $2,500 buy-in tournament that started on June 24th 2010. Smith bested a field of 507 players and a prize pool of $1,166,100. The tournament featured 30-minute periods between the No-Limit and Limit Hold’em.

On Day 1 of the event, sixty nine players survived the games. This number was further slashed to nine before the third day. At the final hand, Smith duked it out with Danny Hannawa who raised 10-8 with Smith calling A-Q. The board came down to A-K-2-J-J and Smith was able to clinch the victory and the prize of $268,238. Meanwhile, it was also Scott Montgomery’s first bracelet.

Despite entering the Full Tilt Bonus competition on the final day with the second shortest stack, Montgomery managed to turn around using an aggressive playing strategy that eventually pushed him to the top. At the final hand, Montgomery called with A-7 when opponent Mick Carlson pushed all in with K-2. When Carlson’s hand failed to improve, Montgomery won the tilt and claimed the check of $481,760. Both Gavin Smith and Scott Montgomery are members of Full Tilt Poker’s slate of top poker pros.
