Before Sunday’s haul, Vengrin’s largest Full Tilt Poker Net scores consist of a win in the $80,000 Guaranteed for nearly $20,000. Yet, when competing for a quantity of money he hadn’t yet seen online, Vengrin played it cool: “I made sure not to look at the payouts at all and kept setting small goals for myself. At 150,000 in chips, my objective was to build my stack to 300,000, then 500,000, and then one million. When we got down to the final three tables, I would have a sudden thought about how huge a top three finish would be, but I would make sure to squash those thoughts as fast as possible.”
